Gazania is a beautiful herbaceous perennial plant (often grown as an annual) belonging to the Asteraceae family. Native to southern Africa, it is extremely appreciated for the vibrancy and bright colors of its flowers. It is perfect both for growing in pots and for creating borders, flower beds and bright colorful carpets in the garden!

☀️ Light and Sun: It needs a lot of sun! Place it in a bright place, possibly exposed to direct sunlight for many hours a day.

🌡️ Temperature: The ideal temperature for growth is from 16°C to 22°C. It tolerates the summer heat very well, but does not tolerate the harsh cold and winter frosts. In winter it must be protected or restarted.

🪨 Type of Soil: It adapts to various types of soil, as long as they are light, soft and very well drained. A mix of universal soil, peat and sand is ideal for avoiding water stagnation.

💧 WATERING AND FERTILIZING

💧 Watering: Let the soil dry out between waterings. In summer, water regularly, but without exceeding to avoid root rot.

🧪 Fertilization: From March to October, apply liquid fertilizer for flowering plants diluted in irrigation water every 15 to 20 days to stimulate continuous flowering.

✂️ Cleaning: It does not require strenuous pruning. It is enough to regularly remove wilted flowers and dry or damaged leaves to stimulate the birth of new buds.

☀️ The Flowers of the Sun: A fantastic peculiarity of Gazania is that its flowers open completely only in the presence of the sun! During cloudy days, rain and night close like a curl, while the leaves tend to lift slightly.
