Referens: BL-12103553
Originally from Africa, dwarf jade or Crassula is a fleshy plant, with a soft shrub wood and suitable for cultivation as a bonsai. It has a thick trunk and a structure of fine branches with thick succulent green leaves, characteristics that make it resistant and therefore perfect even for those who are fascinated by the art of bonsais, but they are still beginners.

Crassula is a succulent plant native to Africa, which produces spatula-shaped foliage, slightly fleshy, and has a thick stem that takes on a brown color. The brown color of the outer cuticle of the stems and the leaves which naturally tend to develop in minute dimensions, make the bonsai crassules very elegant, even when the plants are still quite young. If they are found in an area with a favorable climate, the crassules at the end of winter tend to produce, at the apex of the branches, small star-shaped flowers, of white color, which make these plants grown as bonsai even more elegant.
TREATMENT: Crassula is suitable for growing indoors, favoring a well-lit location where it can enjoy a few hours of direct sunlight, so that the foliage can benefit from it. It is necessary to water only when the soil is dry, since it is a succulent plant and therefore resistant to drought. In any case, it is advisable to water the bonsai by dipping: take a basin, insert the pot and fill with water up to the outer edge of the pot; when the substrate is damp even on the surface, remove the plant from the bowl, leave it to drain and put it back in its place. This operation will be carried out only sporadically in winter, but also every 2-3 days in the middle of summer, especially if our bonsai stays on the terrace. From March to September it is good to provide a specific fertilizer for succulent plants, rich in potassium and low in nitrogen, every 20-25 days.
